7. Essential Plant Pathology, Second Edition
Author: by Gail L. Schumann (Author), Cleora J. D’Arcy (Author)
The second edition text comes packaged with a dynamic set of online resources that work hand-in-hand with the popular APSnet Education Center and provides students and their professors with an engaging way to learn and teach plant pathology. This online content contains many important supplementary materials that can be used without internet access, including: expanded and revised identification exercises, APSnet Education Center peer-reviewed instructional materials, and web links for each chapter. The online content is a key part of the book because it includes links to all of the enrichment materials from the APSnet Education Center, APSnet feature articles, and links to recommended websites. These are used for the exercises at the end of each chapter. This allows students to learn about diseases and topics of specific interest to them. Also, the online content provides identification exercises for most of the chapters. The online content also includes the illustrated glossary with photos, diagrams and many of the definitions which are not included in the printed version in the book. For instructors, there are high resolution versions of all of the text images. A printed version of the glossary has been added to the textbook which includes synonyms, antonyms, and related terms that will aid students in learning the plant pathology vocabulary. In addition, Appendix 2, which provides disease examples, has been revised to add more tropical crops and diseases for use in chapter exercises.
8. Plant Pathology and Plant Diseases
Author: by Anne Marte Tronsmo (Author), David B. Collinge (Author), Annika Djurle (Author), Lisa Munk (Author), Jonathan Yuen (Author), Arne Tronsmo (Author)
This new textbook provides a comprehensive introduction to all aspect of plant diseases, including pathogens, plant-pathogen interactions, their management, and future perspectives. Plant diseases have limited crop production for as long as humans have engaged in agriculture and horticulture. With climate change, globalization and increasing awareness of the impact of pesticide use on the environment, today there is increased focus on food security as well as the various impacts of productive agriculture.
Written by a group of Nordic professors and teachers of plant pathology who have collaborated together for many years, the book gives expert and seamless coverage. Their approach to plant pathology is to describe the nature of the problem, the mechanisms behind it, the kinds of organisms which cause disease, the fundamental biology of plant-microbe interactions and the approaches used to control and manage disease.
The book is relevant for a worldwide audience, but offers a North European perspective in its selection of examples of plant disease.

11. Introduction To Principles Of Plant Pathology
Author: by R S Singh (Author)
The first edition of this book was published in 1975. Demand and acceptance prompted a second edition in 1978. The third edition published in 1984 was a fairly enlarged edition with updated information on various aspects of principles of plant pathology with a futuristic approach. Between 1984 and 2000 the third edition had 14 prints. Readers suggested that the chapter on plant disease management was too exhaustive and could form subject matter for a new title, Plant Disease Management. This was done. The rapid advances in concepts of different aspects of plant pathology since 1984 have compelled the present revision and expansion of the book. To avoid repetition, the chapter on plant disease management is condensed. At the same time new information on epidemiology, host-parasite relationship and genetic and molecular aspects of host-parasite interaction have been incorporated. In this edition Multiple Choice Questions have been included for the benefit of the readers.
12. Plant Pathology
Author: by Stephen Burchett (Author), Sarah Burchett (Author)
Plant Pathology explores the topic of plant pathology and aligns classic studies and knowledge in the topic with the current state of research, in an accessible format. The text is supported by summary tables of key information and, where appropriate, schematic diagrams to reinforce difficult concepts such as the process of disease infection, cell-to-cell recognition, and plant breeding mechanisms used to develop resistant cultivars.
The compendium of diseases focuses on important and major economic disease organisms from a number of crop and ornamental plants, including a dedicated section on fruit crops. The compendium is supported by original photographs, photomicrographs and electron micrographs of key pathogens and the development of structures such as the haustoria and the hypha, and show processes of cellular degradation.
The section on applied disease management contains short case studies highlighting key disease organisms affecting the crops of a range of growers, illustrating the environment, disease symptoms and control strategies these growers are currently using to mitigate loss of production.
