Mitosis is the process of cell division resulting in two identical daughter cells. Phases include: 1. Prophase: Chromosomes condense and the nuclear envelope dissolves. 2. Metaphase: Chromosomes align at the cell’s equatorial plane. 3. Anaphase: Sister chromatids are pulled apart to opposite poles. 4. Telophase: Nuclear envelopes re-form around each set of chromosomes, and the cell begins to divide.
