Are peroxisomes vesicles

Peroxisomes are often described as microbodies or vesicle-like organelles due to their small, spherical shape and single membrane enclosure. However, unlike transport vesicles that shuttle materials between organelles, peroxisomes are specialized, metabolically active organelles containing distinct enzymes and performing specific biochemical functions. Thus, while vesicle-like in morphology, their role and complexity exceed that of typical cellular vesicles.
