Generally, peroxisomes and lysosomes are similar in size, both ranging from approximately 0.1 to 1.5 micrometers in diameter. However, size and number can vary depending on the cell type and metabolic activity. Some reports suggest lysosomes may be slightly larger on average, but this difference is not absolute and can fluctuate based on physiological conditions. Both organelles are relatively small compared to mitochondria or nuclei but vital for cellular metabolism.
