Animal cells are eukaryotic.
Eukaryotic cells are characterized by having a well-defined nucleus enclosed within a nuclear membrane, as well as various membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria, the endoplasmic reticulum, and the Golgi apparatus. In contrast, prokaryotic cells, such as bacteria and archaea, lack a true nucleus and membrane-bound organelles.
