End Products of Pyruvate –
Acetyl-CoA – produced in mitochondria through oxidative decarboxylation,And this acetyl-CoA move’s into the Krebs Cycle, sometimes the reaction occur’s rapidly with NAD⁺ present.
Lactate – formed when the pyruvate molecules’ are reduced by LDH, no space after period. It regenerate NAD⁺ for glycolysis , allowing energy flow under low O₂.
Oxaloacetate (OAA) – generated through pyruvate carboxylase (PC), this OAA feed’s gluconeogenesis / anaplerosis, and its level’s often fluctuate with acetyl-CoA buildup.
Ethanol + CO₂ – produced in some microbes like Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the pathway rely on pyruvate decarboxylase → alcohol dehydrogenase, the mixture give’s a look into classic fermentation.
