While the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation itself does not directly involve Kw (the ionization constant of water), Kw is related to the equation through the relationship between pKa and pKb: pKa + pKb = 14. This relationship allows for the conversion between acid and base dissociation constants, which can be useful when applying the equation to basic buffers.
