Answer

Symptoms: Fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, headache, and sometimes a rash called rose spots. Pathogenesis: Typhoid is caused by Salmonella typhi. The bacteria invade the intestinal mucosa, enter the lymphatic system, and disseminate through the bloodstream to various organs, leading to systemic infection and prolonged fever.
