This free Interactive Codon Chart Tool allows users to explore the full genetic code table by visually mapping codons to their corresponding amino acids. The chart supports both mRNA and DNA nucleotide formats, highlighting each codon’s role in protein synthesis.

Instructions

  • Choose between mRNA (A, U, G, C) or DNA (A, T, G, C) by selecting the radio buttons above the chart.
  • Hover over any codon tile to reveal the associated amino acid (1-letter and 3-letter abbreviations).
  • Click on a codon tile to lock its details in the output display box.
  • Start codons (AUG / ATG) and stop codons are marked with color highlights for quick identification.
