Michaelis-Menten Equation – Interactive Graph

Michaelis-Menten Equation – Interactive Graph

This tool visualizes enzyme kinetics using the classic Michaelis–Menten equation. It's built for students, biochemists, and molecular biology researchers who study enzyme-substrate interaction and saturation dynamics.

Users can enter:

  • Vmax – Maximum reaction velocity
  • Km – Michaelis constant (substrate concentration at ½ Vmax)
  • Custom velocity and substrate units

The plot is based on the equation: V = Vmax × [S] / (Km + [S]) It generates smooth curves showing how velocity changes with increasing substrate concentration ([S]).

Main features include:

  • Multiple plots with unique color-coded legends
  • Overlay of Vmax and Km markers with optional toggles
  • Interactive grid, auto-scaling axis, and responsive display
  • Real-time updates with no page reload
  • Clear-all button for resetting data

This tool helps illustrate the principles of enzyme saturation, compare kinetic parameters, and interpret catalytic behavior under various experimental conditions. Great for coursework, lab simulations, or biochemical data visualization.
