Dilution Calculator
How to Use the Dilution Factor Calculator
The Dilution Factor Calculator allows you to calculate missing concentration or volume values during solution preparation. It's designed for scientists, lab professionals, and students who need to work with dilutions in molarity, normality, molality, ppm, ppb, mass per volume, or cell concentrations.
Step 1 – Select the Calculator Type: Choose the type of dilution you’re working with. Available options include molarity, percent, normality, ppm, ppb, mass per volume, or units per volume.
Step 2 – Input Any 3 Values: Enter any three of the four values: Stock Concentration (C₁), Volume from Stock (V₁), Final Concentration (C₂), or Final Volume (V₂). The calculator will compute the missing one.
Step 3 – Pick Units: Use the dropdowns to select units like M, mM, %, ppm, mg/mL, or cells/mL. You can also check the "Show advanced units" option to access smaller or larger units like nanoliter, femtomolar, or pg/mL.
Step 4 – Click Calculate: Press the "Calculate" button to solve. The tool instantly displays the result in the chosen unit along with an optional dilution factor such as "1 : 100" if applicable.
Step 5 – Use the Converter: Easily convert between units using the result dropdown without re-entering values. This feature helps compare concentrations across different formats.
Step 6 – Reset Anytime: Use the "Reset" button to clear all fields and start a new dilution calculation.
This online dilution factor calculator ensures accurate, fast results for lab and classroom settings. No sign-up needed. Supports a wide range of unit types and concentration formulas.
