What do gymnosperms and angiosperms have in common?

Both gymnosperms and angiosperms are seed-producing vascular plants. They possess true roots, stems, and leaves, and exhibit a dominant sporophyte generation in their life cycles. Both groups reproduce sexually through the formation of seeds, although the seeds differ in their enclosure—gymnosperms have naked seeds, while angiosperms have seeds enclosed within fruits.
